The vet examined him and the other kittens. He put his legs in a splint and gave us recommendations on how to change it, do physical therapy, and schedule follow-up appointments. He said that because he's so small, they can't take X-rays yet, but he did see that his legs were responding well.

We're hoping for good news throughout his journey, and we'll do our best to make sure he grows up to be a healthy and happy kitten. He's a boy, btw! Thank you all so much for your advice and explanations. I'll keep you updated on his progress. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts.

timaeusToreador • 1d ago i'm glad he's doing okay!! when my cat was a baby she had swimmers syndrome, luckily not as extreme as other cases (she was correcting on her own, and needed minimal interventions, but still got physio). here she is as a baby vs now.

as you can see, her feet are still... odd Imao. an old roommate once said she walks like a cowboy with guns on her hips. but she does all regular cat things like walking, running, jumping, with ease. i keep an eye on her, since iirc swimmer syndrome can make them more prone to arthritis, but other than her Very Flexible Toes, she's a healthy cat.

This is my cat Moose, she was born the same way and did therapy on her daily and now she's perfectly fine. Not a great jumper but she's also never really needed that skill, she is very bonded to me though to the point I've never not had her sleep next to me. Good luck.
